TROPICAL Cyclone Wind Signal Number 1 remains raised in many parts of the country as Tropical Depression Wilma slows down.
In PAGASA’s 5PM bulletin, Wilma was last monitored at 575 kilometers east of Catarman, Eastern Samar. It has maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 55 kilometers per hour.
Parts of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao remain under minimal to minor threat due to the winds brought by Wilma.

PAGASA also warns the public for heavy rainfall due to both Wilma and shearline. While northeast monsoon will bring strong to gale-force gusts over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Bataan, CALABARZON, Mindoro provinces, Romblon, Marinduque, Bicol Region, and parts of Visayas.
Based on PAGASA’s monitoring, Wilma is forecasted to make its first landfall in Eastern Visayas or Dinagat Islands on Friday evening or Saturday morning.
