PAGASA warns the public about the high risk life threatening and damaging storm surge reaching up to more than three meters for the next 48 hours over low-lying and coastal communities of Cagayan, Isabela, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Aurora, Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Metro Manila, Cavite, Batangas, Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Dinagat Islands, and Siargao and Bucas Grande Islands.

Gale warning is also raised over the seaboards of Luzon, eastern and central seaboards of Visayas, and eastern seaboards of Mindanao.

According to PAGASA’s track forecast, Uwan will continue to move west northwestward over the coastal waters of Camarines Norte. It may pass close to Calaguas and Polillo Islands within the day.

Uwan may make a landfall over the central portion of Aurora tonight or the early morning of Monday, November 10. Due to its proximity, it is possible for Uwan to make a direct hit over Calaguas and Polillo Islands.

Afterwhich, Uwan is likely to traverse the mountain ranges of Northern Luzon that may cause it to significantly weaken to typhoon category and remain as such throughout its passage over Northern Luzon.

Uwan is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by morning of Tuesday, November 11. However, it is forecasted to wreak havoc and have a landfall in Taiwan on Thursday, November 13.
