METROPOLITAN Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will be implementing temporary lane closures and stop-and-go scheme on Friday, December 19 for the Metro Manila Film Festival Grand Parade of Stars.
Makai City is the host city for the 51st edition of the parade.
From 12:01PM to 10PM, motorists passing through Macapagal Boulevard, Senator Gil Puyat Avenue, Ayala Avenue, Makati Avenue, JP Rizal Street, and AP Reyes Avenue should expect intermittent traffic stops along specific lanes to give way to the parade.
The main stage, tents, and holding areas, as well as the parking area for the floats will be at Macapagal Boulevard northbound. While the starting point of the parade is at the southbound lane.
Motorists are advised to plan their trips accordingly and use alternative routes:
FOR VEHICLES COMING FROM MACAPAGAL BOULEVARD/MALL OF ASIA/CAVITE:
- Take left at Seaside Boulevard, right at Diokno Boulevard straight to Atang De la Rama Street, right at Vicento Sotto Street, left at Jalandoni Street then right at Pedro Bukaneg Street to destination
- From Diokno Boulevard right at Gil Puyat Avenue Extension, left at Jalandoni Street, then right at Pedro Bukaneg Street to destination
FOR VEHICLES COMING FROM EDSA:
- From J. P. Rizal Aveenue, take A. Bonifacio Street, left at Zamora Street, right at Commando Bridge to destination
The parade’s route will pass through Buendia Avenue, Ayala Avenue, Makati Avenue, JP Rizal Street, A. Reyes Avenue, and end at Circuit Makati, where spectators will have the chance to meet the celebrities.
Authorities say that the estimated duration of the more than eight-kilometer parade is one hour, 40 minutes.
After the parade, a program will be held at the Circuit Makati.
MMDA will deploy 1,000 personnel to assist during the parade.
