MALACAÑANG on Wednesday said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s legal team has not yet discussed whether he should respond to a possible invitation to attend impeachment deliberations at the House of Representatives.
The statement came after House Justice Committee chairperson Gerville Luistro said the chamber may invite the President if impeachment complaints against him are found sufficient in form and substance.
At least two impeachment complaints have so far been filed against Marcos Jr., alleging his involvement in the passage of the 2025 national budget, which critics claim contains questionable insertions and anomalous flood control projects.
Luistro said the complaints will first be consolidated before the House Justice Committee proceeds with evaluating their sufficiency in form and substance.
