Customs sets second auction for Discaya luxury cars

Share:

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) announced that the four remaining luxury vehicles seized from the Discaya couple will undergo a second auction on December 5. BOC Deputy Chief of Staff Chris Noel Bendijo said the auction is projected to raise around P50 million for the national treasury.

Public viewing is scheduled from December 2 to 3. Bendijo said, “The Toyota Tundra will now have a new floor price P3.4 million mahigit, for the Toyota Sequoia, it’s around P4.6 million and for the Rolls Royce is now at P36 million mahigit… from P45 million to P36 million. And finally the Bentley Bentayga will now have a floor price of P13 million.”

The first auction of the couple’s other luxury vehicles generated about P38 million.

Bendijo noted that if the second auction again fails to attract buyers, the BOC will shift to direct offer, allowing the agency to accept negotiated bids based on the valuation of the forfeited items.
