Angara denies rumors of impending cabinet revamp

RUMORS of an impending Cabinet revamp under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. were dismissed Friday by Education Secretary Sonny Angara, who said key Palace officials confirmed there is no planned shakeup.

Angara said he has not personally discussed the matter with the President, but Executive Secretary Ralph Recto and Presidential Management Staff Secretary Elaine Masukat assured him the reports were unfounded.

Asked about the so-called “unlucky 9,” referring to reports that at least nine officials could be affected, Angara brushed it off, saying, “Wala naman daw.

Claire, clarifying that there is no such revamp,” Angara told reporters after Marcos inspected the fire-damaged San Francisco High School in Quezon City.

Angara said he could not identify the source of the rumors. When asked why his name was being mentioned, he joked, “Well, magandang lalaki.

On his performance as education secretary, Angara declined self-assessment, saying evaluation should come from those he serves and the President.

Of course, we serve at the pleasure of the president,” he said.
