DETERMINED to get over the hump finally, the Nxled Chameleons continue their eventful offseason with newly loaded additions bannered by the acquisition of blockers Abby Maraño and Ranya Musa.
It has been an eventful past week for Nxled, with them actively pursuing the market and trying to acquire the best asset possible, most recently through the services of Maraño and Musa.
In a social media post, the team confirmed that the two stalwarts are bound to play for the franchise. It was then followed by an update from Maraño herself, confirming the move.
The 33-year-old expressed her thanks to them for allowing her to continue playing in the PVL. “It was a rough ride, yet at the end of the day, it’s greener on the other side. So thrilled for this new chapter @nxledchameleons,” Maraño wrote in a Facebook post.
The move was made possible after Maraño was put on the free agent list following the disbandment of Chery Tiggo Crossovers after 11 years of playing as a franchise in the PVL, where she helped the team reach the playoffs in five of six conferences before their final run last year.
The veteran middle blocker was the last Chery Tiggo player to find a home just weeks before the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference, which is bound to start on January 31.
Alongside Abby, the Chameleons also brought in the 28-year-old Musa for the perfect blend of experience and youth in their newly formed lineup. Musa joined the Nxled’s core after her two-year stint at Petro Gazz Angels camp.
The acquisition is also made possible after Petro Gazz’s franchise announced that they will be filing a leave of absence from the league this upcoming season.
The Maraño-Musa duo at the net is set to bring scoring, blocking, and stability to Nxled’s middle rotation that already features May Ann Nique, Jeycel Delos Reyes, Krich Macaslang, and Razel Aldea.
Eyeing to find their way back to the playoffs, Nxled continues to strike the iron with their offseason signings with the latest additions of Maraño and Musa. The team already acquired a star-studded pile of free agents from Jonah Sabete, Djanel Cheng, and Aduke Ogunsanya.
